Perth will bring sharpshooter Andre Ingram to the NBL to replace sacked fellow US import Jaron Johnson.
Ingram holds the NBA Development League record for the most three-pointers, shooting 583 outside the arc.
The 30-year-old has spent his entire professional career in the D-League, where has most recently played with the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
He has not arrived in Australia but expects to play with the Wildcats this weekend, with the team to face Illawarra at home on Friday before meeting Melbourne United away on Saturday.
"To start playing with a new team so soon after arriving will be tough," Ingram said.
"But I'm confident in what I can bring to this group and will be doing all I can to help get us some important wins this weekend."
Wildcats coach Trevor Gleeson said shooting guard Ingram, who averaged 10.4 points last season, was "in the back of my mind" after watching him play earlier this year.
"He's got deep three-point range and that's something that we need help with," Gleeson said.
Johnson was released this week three games into the season after mixed performances, with the club citing roster balance as the reason.
He scored a game-high 26 points against Cairns in their first match, before managing 11 points from his next two outings.
