Injuries and a tough past fortnight means Sydney go into their preliminary final against Geelong far from fresh, says Tadhg Kennelly.

With doubt over the fitness of Callum Mills, Kurt Tippett, Jarrad McVeigh and Gary Rohan, plus the effect of two physical finals, the big question for Sydney is: do they have the cattle to replace them, if they have to?.

"If you look at it, they're battle-weary," Kennelly told Sportsfan's Will McCloy.

"They're four stars of your team, so you're saying, 'How's your depth going?'"

"But you look at what they've done throughout the year, and having [played] seven debutants … like [Tom] Papley ... like George Hewett."

"These players have actually played some good footy for them."

Do Sydney go into Friday night's preliminary final a bit flat after their win?

"It's so draining on you mentally," insisted Kennelly.

"And the game against GWS was quite demanding; in that first half it was brutal."

"They've had a big couple of weeks."

"They won't do a whole lot this week, obviously, as far as training itself."

"But you just wonder … I'm sure, mentally they'll be fine, because it's a preliminary final."
