RB Leipzig set a Bundesliga record in beating Augsburg 2-1 to become the first promoted team to stay undefeated through their first six matches.
Leipzig's third victory in six rounds gives Ralph Hasenhuettl's team 12 points - even with Borussia Dortmund for third place on the table.
The promoted side had been even with Rot Weiss Oberhausen, who avoided defeat in their first five matches of the 1969-70 season as a promoted side.
"It's nice to see that we have had a good start in the league," Hasenhuettl said. "Beating Dortmund at home is definitely a highlight but we still have a lot to learn. We just want to go step by step."
Emil Forsberg's 11th-minute goal was equalised three minutes later by Augsburg's Ji Dong-Won before Yussuf Poulsen gave Leipzig the lead again in the 52nd minute.
Augsburg were victorious in just one of their past four games and remained on seven points in 11th place.
