Life just isn’t fair, sometimes. A six-figure sum in Britain’s National Lottery was recently won by a Premier League player, according to The Daily Star.

A spokesman for the lucrative lottery said that the organisation was “unable to confirm or deny any winner rumours.""Unless a winner chooses to take publicity then no details are released. He wants to keep a low profile because of the stick he’ll get".

Widely rumoured to be a household name at a major club, the unnamed player picked five correct numbers and the “bonus ball” to win £125,942 in a pre-Christmas lotto.

Before bonuses, the average Premier League wage is £22,353 a week or £1.16million a year. Earnings for the top-flight players have shot up by more than 200 per cent in the last decade, despite a world recession.
