PSV Eindhoven defender Erik Pieters is back on the sidelines after injuring his arm punching through a glass window at the Philips Stadion on Saturday.
The Netherlands international, incensed at receiving a red card 67 minutes into his comeback match from injury, lashed out angrily as he walked into the home side's tunnel.
Vision shows Pieters kick the side of the tunnel as he is led towards the window. The camera gets caught behind and misses the punch but captures the aftermath – a blood-smeared hole in the glass where Pieters sliced his arm open.
The 24-year-old, who spent nine months on the sidelines nursing a foot injury, is back on the injured list for an unspecified length of time.
The Dutch club would only confirm that he underwent surgery for "damage to several structures in his underarm" and that PSV medical staff will assess an appropriate timetable for his return in the coming weeks.
