More Football News

Mat Ryan (goalkeeper) - 7. Calm with the ball at his feet under pressure and even got a round of applause from the crowd after one shimmy.

Brad Smith - 6. Had some dodgy moments but made some surging runs and rattled the left upright with a first-half shot.

Trent Sainsbury - 8. Scored with a header and stifled numerous Saudi attacks.

Matthew Spiranovic - 7. Kept the Socceroos in it with a sensational double-block in the second half.

Mark Milligan - 7. Solid in an unfamiliar role, at least for the national team, at right-back.

Mile Jedinak - 6. Slow, gave the ball away too often, and surely under increasing pressure to keep his spot from the in-form Jackson Irvine.

Aaron Mooy - 6. Delivered the corner for Australia's first goal but quiet compared to his usual standards.

Tom Rogic - 7. Not a bad showing, but lacked the final product and overblew some good chances.

Mathew Leckie - 6. Gave his all but couldn't get in the game.

Robbie Kruse - 7. Lively, provided the assist for Tom Juric and linked up well with most of his teammates.

Tomi Juric - 8. Scored his second goal in as many months for the national team and now looks Australia's best option at No.9.

Massimo Luongo (sub for Mathew Leckie) - 6. Solid enough, came on and helped change the team's shape.

Tim Cahill (sub for Tomi Juric) - N/A. Didn't have the chance to put his imprint on the game.

Jackson Irvine (sub for Tom Rogic) - N/A. On the pitch for five minutes.
