The countdown to the 2012 Paralympics has moved one step closer with Australian athletes presented with their uniforms for the London Games.

Athletes from Australia's Paralympic cycling, swimming, table tennis and athletics teams have suited up in the new uniforms for the first time from their base in Cardiff.

Distributing the uniforms was one of the biggest logistical jobs for the Australian Paralympic Committee, the tasking of sorting, packing and shipping 20,890 individual pieces of casual and competition uniform starting back in May.

The feedback from athletes has been positive.

"The uniform is great and the set-up is amazing," said Beijing cycling bronze medallist Jayme Paris.

"It looks great having the big picture of Lizzie here and the green and gold looks awesome, it's very exciting."
